Botanicals
I have always planted and used herbs, both for medicinal and culinary uses, and I had been thinking about digging deeper with my study of herbalism. I was perusing my old articles, and one from about fifteen years ago mentioned that I would like to take Rosemary Gladstar’s, The Science and Art of Herbalism course one day. Well, that was the push to make one day happen! I spent two years taking her course. It was incredible, and much more intense than I thought it would be. I made tinctures, teas, balms, salves, bath and beauty products, and created protocols for people focusing on their health issues, which was quite intense and melded perfectly with my nutrition background, using food to maintain or obtain good health
My favorite products to make were/are teas, balms, and salves, and some bath products.
I make balms using tallow from pastured animals that I purchase from a local business. I also make balms using herbal oils, which I make, and local beeswax. I use the best quality essential oils in my products. For my herbs, I use Rosemary’s Garden in Sebastopol (where I grew up) and Mountain Rose Herbs in Oregon. I have had the pleasure of visiting Mountain Rose Herbs, and they are amazing!
I hope you enjoy them!
