"And the day came when the risk it took to remain
tight inside the bud was more painful than the
risk it took to blossom." —Anais Nin
Springtime, 2008: The moment to cross the bridge between the old and new has arrived at Patty James Cooking School. We anticipated a transitional period of a few months between our announcement that the School would close until it actually did.
But: "Luck occurs when preparation meets opportunity!"
Patty James Cooking School officially closed it's doors on April 7, 2008. "For some time," says Patty, "I have dreamed of owning a ranch in southern Oregon, where I would hold residential cooking retreats, workshops and practicums that blend the science of organic herb and vegetable cultivation with the art whole foods cookery."
"As bees gather honey, so we collect what is sweetest out of all things and build..."
—Rainer Maria Rilke
Beginning in May, 2008, Patty James Cooking School's new home is the Applegate Valley about 40 minutes from Ashland in Southern Oregon. "The past two years in my life and business have been abundant with new people, business connections and teaching inspirations. The ranch and it's land met my vision in every way. Now, I am preparing to begin cooking classes, nutritional consultations and weeklong retreats each month."
"We all take different paths in life and no matter where we go, we take a little of each other along with us. I am thankful for all of my mentors, supporters, students, young and old, and even the challenges I've encountered in running the School in Sebastopol. Everything added up to what I am now building and I welcome each of you to stay in touch through my website and blog, as the new unfolds and the school begins to operate this summer!"
In good health, and with gratitude and respect,
Patty

CLIENTS SPEAK February, 11, 2008 I will definitely be telling everyone about your school and will be taking more classes, too. Thank you so very much, Patty! —Patsy
After I received a diagnosis of pre diabetes, I happened to see Patty the very next day, and she immediately made recommendations to keep my blood sugar more stable. After going through my required pre diabetic classes and meal planning classes, I arranged a Nutritional Consultation with Patty to enhance my chances of keeping my blood sugar within normal range. I have since had a second consultation with Patty to follow up and learn more of what I can do. Since learning of my diagnosis in late September, my last 2 three- month blood tests have been in the totally normal range as I continue to follow my new way of life. Patty is an empathic, warm-hearted, nutrition-knowledgeable individual who had my best interests at heart at a very vulnerable time and when my health was in a compromised state. I feel very fortunate to have been able to learn from her expertise. —Marilyn |
